Russell Benford is stepping down as deputy mayor of Miami-Dade County to accept a position with Royal Caribbean Cruises. His resignation is effective October 11, 2017.
Benford will join Royal Caribbean Cruises as vice-president of government relations.
Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez has appointed former Miami fire chief Maurice Kemp to serve as Deputy Mayor.
Kemp will assume the reins as deputy mayor on October 11, 2017.
