Omni redevelopment agency
to fund home repairs

The Omni Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is accepting applications from low income, elderly, disabled homeowners, and military veterans to have no cost repairs to the façades of their dwellings as well as to the interiors.

The agency's directors voted to award $700,000, to Rebuilding Together Miami-Dade Inc., a non-profit that "works with community partners to revitalize neighbors and reduce social blight", said a memo by Jason Walker, Omni CRA executive director.

"Rebuilding Together requested aid from the CRA, towards underwriting a portion of its costs.

"The West Perrine CRA, the Naranja CRA and Florida City have provided funding for Rebuilding Together Miami", said an October 11 letter from Donna Fales the group's executive directive.

Current Miami Commissioner and current CRA director Francis Suarez, supports the idea of repairs. Current Miami Commissioner and CRA chair Ken Russell also supports the program.
