Bush and his rumored
extramarital affair

It has been rumored that while governor of Florida John Ellis (Jeb) Bush was involved in an extramarrital affair with Cynthia Henderson, former secretary of Department of Management Services. Bush called the rumors an "outright lie".

Bush met Henderson in the 1980s through his brother Neil, who was on the board of directors of a land development company where she served as corporate counsel. Henderson also served as corporate counsel. Henderson also served on the board of directors of Jeb Bush's think tank - the Foundation for Florida's Future.

Bush appointed Henderson to head the Department of Business and Professional Regulation in January 1999. She faced maquestions about her ethics in running the agency on several occasions.

Bush transferred Henderson to the Department of Management Services, a lower profile agency.

Bush said the critism of Henderson was unjustified and had nothing to do with his decision.

It shouldn't be a big deal, but it's amazing how the Republicans investigated W.J. (Bill) Clinton about a similar incident.
